"Showers bring people together" November 7, 2011

"Writing advice?"

See, here’s the thing. All of us authors have this idea in our heads that maybe, somehow our stories will finish themselves. But, they won’t. So the most sound advice to give is to write.
When people ask for advice, I always, always tell people to do what makes them happy. Do what you love no matter what. If you’re getting paid or not, it doesn’t matter. And if writing is what you love, then is shouldn’t even be a problem.

And if you find you don’t love writing, than don't force yourself into it! Find something else and fall in love with it. That’s all that’s important.

"I like that kid!" November 6, 2011

In the typical rush of life and money, I think a lot of people forget to how to live.
And that's why I love theater. For once you can just live. Be around people you love, having fun. Opening yourself up to joy, and embracing that. Learning not to care about anything else but happiness is such a valuable lesson.
Never am I happier than when I'm on stage, it even beats out writing. I love it. Those people, that stage. The music, the dance. For once, I am aloud to be unironically excited about everything. Literally everything.
That's a feeling I find myself constantly chasing- I'll never get enough of it.

"Gurl, YOU ARE STUPID. I love you, though. BUT STUPID" November 5, 2011

309 posts, 309 days and after all this time I nearly forget about writing my blog.
Gee wiz, today has been a day. But we press on,
so far in my novel we've had several arguments, falling off of chairs, some deep thought, and some Timbuktu University.
It's going beautifully.

"This is my life, Adam. Cheese on Ritz" November 4, 2011

Why can't I just be satisfied?
I hate being in my room, but I hate being away from it, too.
I love my characters, but I miss my friends a lot.

Oh, November. How I loathe and love thee.

"Under that logic, shut up" November 3, 2011

I used to write until the world made sense.
And when stressful times hit in September, I quite simply stopped having the time.
And when I don't write, I'm not happy.
I find myself growing disinterested with the world when I don't have another to escape to if need be.
And that's why I love NaNoWriMo.
I'm writing again, and I love it.
I love language. I love hardly anything the way I love words.
And that's my problem with a lot of people.
I don't know how to understand someone who doesn't fall in love with prose the way I do.
I always wonder about this when I meet people. Do they have favorite authors? Do they write? Poetry? Short stories?
I can't help myself.
And it really does make me hate some people.
Do you want to correct me on my misuse of the word disinterested?
Because I bet you're pretty disinterested in the word itself.
You say you want to protect language,
but you've the protectors of language the way PETA is the protector of animals.
I will make nouns verbs, and I will dress my words any way I please.
Learn to love the language we speak, the words we read and the thoughts we hear.
Once Elliot and Cummings were in pools of criticism,
and while you think you're protecting them, you're restating what repressed them.
