"I'm thankful for your random texts and being a super sweetie. Keep bein' beautiful, darlin'" November 24, 2011- Thanksgiving
Today I am going to give you my favorite quote from each doctor.
Happy Thanksgiving!
First:
First:
"The least important things sometimes, my dear boy, lead to the greatest discoveries."
Second:
"I am not a student of human nature. I am a professor of a far larger academy of which human nature is merely a part."
Third:
"Courage isn't a matter of not being frightened, you know. It's being afraid and doing what you have to do anyway."
Forth:*
"The very powerful and very stupid have one thing in common. They don't alter their views to fit the facts. They alter their facts to fit their views."
Fifth:
"When did you last have the pleasure of smelling a flower, watching a sunset, eating a well prepared meal?"... "For some people small, beautiful events are what life is all about."
Sixth:
"Planets come and go. Stars perish. Matter disperses, coalesces, forms into other patterns, other worlds. Nothing can be eternal."
Seventh:**
"Anything remotely interesting is mad in some way."
Eight:
"I love humans. Always seeing patterns in things that aren't there."
Ninth:
"It's like when you're a kid. The first time they tell you that the world's turning and you can't believe it 'cause everything looks like it's standin' still. I can fell it. The turn of Earth. The ground beneath our feet spinnin' at 1,000 miles an hour and the entire planet is hurtling around the sun at 67,000 miles an hour, and I can feel it."
Tenth:
"Mankind doesn't need warfare and bloodshed to prove itself. Everyday life can provide honor and valor. Let's hope that from now on this country can find its heroes in smaller places. In the most ordinary of deeds.
Eleventh:
"And you won't even remember me. Well, you'll remember me a little. I'll be a story in your head. That's okay. We're all stories in the end."
Secondary favorites:
*"Answers are easy. It's asking the right questions which is hard."
**"A stitch in time takes up space."

"You seem beautiful a lot." November 20, 2011
You take my world and make it buzz with color. It races and with you, but you always look over your shoulder for me.
You make my heart heavy, but not with pain, with love. You me make tired, and nervous. And sometimes like I'm stupid. But, you only ever make me tired of laughing, nervous that I'll lose you, and stupid because I thought that I'd never feel happier than I just had. (I always end up happier than before) You're the streaks through cloudy days. Wonderful, real nonsense.
Every day is different and everyday it gets better.
You never stop, and you make me want to keep up.
Thank you.
I love you.
I love you.

Those moments where every breath out is anxiety, you can feel it coursing through you. Mad and scared, and all of those words that can’t describe anxiety. And it feels unmanageable while is lasts, because you don’t understand. Your mind races and your heart skips beats, and you don’t know what to do with yourself. And whether is lasts a minute or all day, it doesn’t matter. It’s all the same, getting worse every time.

"Hippo and Jacob used double team, it's super effective!" "Liz used splash, it wasn't very effective" November 17, 2011
There’s nothing like anxiety. The hyper-awareness you get. Suddenly you know every movement. Every breath in and out, every moment. The feeling like your body could eat itself from the inside out. And that’s what anxiety does, it rips every last fiber until you’re hanging on by your last string and that’s all you have. And you can’t even focus on that, because your mind is racing and your head is in your hands and there’s nothing you can do but hope. But hope’s not enough.

(NaNo excerpt)
She kept us calm, even though I imagine that inside she’s screaming.
“I don’t know how to help her.” She sighed as she spoke.
None of us did. But, part of me thinks she doesn't really want it anyway. She’d become comfortable in her anxiety. It was a part of her everyday life. She pushes on, works with it. She’s worked to mold it into something that she can, at the very least, function with.

Do video games actually do anything good?
Well, they make people happy. And while I think that should be enough, there's a whole other list of good things for you nay-sayers.
Video games improve senses like eye sight and hand-eye coordination.
Video games are shown to improve brain activity and promote thinking.
Video games can be quick stress releases. (Hello! Short games can be awesome. Portal, anyone?)
Video games can be quick stress releases. (Hello! Short games can be awesome. Portal, anyone?)
And, video games have shown to be helpful in treatment of mental illnesses. (Look back to the stress-release point)
What I'm saying here is, don't knock 'em until you try 'em.
They're not the spawn of Satan, and they're not going to make your children overweight.

(The past few posts have been from my NaNo novel. So is this one)
She didn’t speak, she muttered. It seemed like the wonderful powers of self-deception had taught her all too well that she can talk herself out of believing anything. She can’t think herself away from any situation- including this one. She didn’t need sci-fi TV shows or fantasy books to whisk herself away. She could just tell herself that everything was fine- and it would be. I not only thought this was horrible, but I envied it.

I guess it’s because you don’t feel every inbetween very often.
You’re either really upset or really happy.
But maybe that’s just because we don’t have any words to describe the times when we aren't either of those things. You’re happy or sad, or overjoyed or depressed. And the only way I’ve heard the median described is ‘Prozac’.
And I think that’s stupid. I don’t want to be ‘Prozac’ and I don’t want to be ‘fine’.
There’s a whole world of communication, and my language just happens to be lacking in some very important words.

But nostalgia was something nobody could resist.
Everybody wants to remember what it’s like being a kid, even if they hated it. There’s something about that kind of innocence that you can never get back once you’ve lost it.
Once it’s gone, it’s gone forever.
